I painted this tree as an embrace. Its branches reach outward with such generosity that I could only think of welcome, forgiveness, and the quiet strength of giving without asking. The many small notes of color within the leaves reflect the layered emotions we carry—sorrow, joy, memory, and hope living together. For me, this piece is about the heart when it remains open, even after it has known seasons of pain.
