The Trial
I painted this ship as an image of human vulnerability. The vessel is small against the force around it, yet that very fragility is what gives it dignity. I was thinking about fear, but also about the strange nobility that appears when one keeps going despite fear. This work is emotional for me because it admits that survival is not always graceful, yet it is still beautiful.
