This piece was painted from a feeling of gentleness and pause. The warm pastel tones gave me the sense of a morning that has not yet fully awakened, when even the boats seem to breathe slowly. I wanted everything to feel quiet, tender, and slightly dreamlike. It is a painting about emotional rest, about letting the day begin without hurry or resistance.
